Water Containers & Tanks: The Heart of Your Watering System
Whether you use nipple drinkers or automatic drinking cups, a reliable water tank is essential. It serves two key functions: providing a reservoir for several days and generating the necessary (low) water pressure to ensure water flows through the hoses to the drinkers. At Prodi, you will find systems precisely tailored to these requirements.
With or Without a Float Valve?
What is the difference?
Tanks with Float Valve: These models represent the premium comfort class. They connect directly to your main water line via a hose. When the water level in the tank drops, the valve opens and refills the tank. Once full, it closes automatically.
Advantage: Your poultry always has water without you having to carry buckets or remember to refill. Furthermore, the tank reduces high mains pressure to a "low-pressure" level suitable for nipple drinkers.
Standard Water Tanks (Without Valve): These containers are filled manually. They are perfect as mobile water storage for coops without a direct water connection or for administering medications and vitamins mixed into the water.
Installation and Accessories
Our poultry water containers are modular by design. We provide not only the tanks but also the matching hose connectors, adapters, and outlets (e.g., 1/2 inch) to connect the tank to your watering lines. The square shape of many models is space-saving and often allows for direct mounting on cage systems or the coop wall.
Hygiene Through Material Quality
Algae growth and biofilm are risks with standing water. Our tanks are made of smooth-walled plastic (often Polypropylene/ABS), which prevents dirt from easily accumulating.
Visual Inspection: The material is often semi-transparent ("milky"), allowing you to check the water level from the outside without opening the lid (which could introduce germs).
Cleaning: The lids seal tightly to keep out dust but can be completely removed for thorough cleaning.
